Trip Sitters Training

Then embark on a 3-month journey with us to become a trained trip sitter, able to facilitate profound experiences ethically and with integrity.
Next Cohort Starts May 1, 2025

Why This Training?
Now more than ever, educated and experienced trip sitters who understand the psychedelic experience and who have undergone their own journeys are being called on to support others in theirs.
However, due to the unpredictable nature of these experiences, maximizing your efforts in preparation for becoming sitters is the only ethical way to approach this work.
When navigating the inner workings of another’s psyche, things can easily go wrong, and if sitters aren’t confident in their role, things often DO go wrong.
By providing you with the knowledge and skills you need to support clients with the highest levels of care and integrity, this training prepares you to handle any outcome smoothly and with confidence.
Training Overview
This 12-week program teaches you everything you need to know to start sitting for clients’ psychedelic journeys.
Each of the 12 modules will skillfully guide you through a different aspect of the client journey. You’ll cover all critical components, including topics like screening and intake; do’s and don’ts during the session; legal, ethical, and moral considerations; preparation of the space; planning and logistics; your role pre- and post-session, and much more.
Additionally, each week your class will meet with the course instructor, Sarah Howat, for 90 minutes of real-time discussion of the lecture, Q&A, and personal feedback, as well as expert guest drop-ins.

Course Instructor

Sarah Howat attended the University of Northern Colorado for a Masters in Couples & Family Therapy. She is based between Austin, TX, and Colorado Springs, CO, where she runs her own private practice and sits one-on-one with clients, as well as for three separate retreat companies.
In her time as an Expert Trip Sitter, she’s been involved in over 80 psychedelic experiences and worked with 200+ individuals in a one-on-one or small group setting. She is also a transformational coach, spiritual mentor, and prep and integration coach certified through Being True To You.
Her guiding principle in this work is that integrity is everything.
Launch Your Psychedelic Career
Becoming certified as a trip sitter will position you ahead of everyone else as a well-rounded, all-encompassing form of support for anyone looking to dive into psychedelics with an empathic witness by their side.
Upon completion, you’ll be able to seek out opportunities working alongside many different organizations, such as:
- Retreat Companies: Sit internationally for psychedelic retreat companies serving Ayahuasca, Bufo/5MeO-DMT, Psilocybin Mushrooms, Huachuma, Iboga, and more.
- Psychedelic Clinics: Seek out local Ketamine clinics that lack professionally-trained sitters and fill the gap. Do the same with MDMA and Psilocybin as they become legal.
- Sitter Networks: Join a network of psychedelic trip sitters where you can get consistent quality leads without doing any of the marketing or sales.
- Medical Professionals: Partner with medical professionals such as doctors offices, nurse practitioners, or even therapists, and become the go-to referral for their existing client base.
- Treatment-Specific Organizations: Be the safe landing needed for people recovering from addiction, going through end-of-life care, or for our often neglected veterans and first responders.
